What is Microblading?
Microblading is a procedure implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin using a small blade to give you the appearance of hair strokes within your natural brow.
-
Does Microblading Hurt?
While I do use a highly effective topical anesthetic cream, pain thresholds very from person to person. I make very effort to ensure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. If you are experiencing any of the following, you may have heightened sensitivity; currently on your menstrual cycle, active user of tobacco products, or diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.
-
What is the Healing Process?
Please plan to have 2 weeks to allow your eyebrows to heal properly. Your semi-permanent makeup will appear darker and feel tight for the first few days. Expect redness and swelling. They will naturally peel giving you the natural color to suit your face. No exercising, swimming or other intense activities for a minimum of 2 weeks. Healing differs from person to person.
-
What if I Use Botox?
Botox will interfere with the shaping of your brows. It is recommended to get Botox at minimum 30 days before your appointment or 2 weeks after.
-
How Long Will My Brows Last?
Microblading is considered a semi-permanent tattoo. Your brows will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every 1-2 years. Please note that final results CANNOT be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. I will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your second session 8 weeks after your first to determine the number of treatments required. Most clients do not need more than the initial procedure and a touch up.
-
How Do I Prepare for my Appointment?
Please allow your brows to grow out for at least 3 weeks. The more the hair, the better. If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final shape, we can remove them. If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 14 days after the procedure.
-
What Medications Should I Avoid?
I require clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen. Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume. If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure. It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 2 weeks BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.

Is Microblading for Me?
There are several circumstances that I do not recommend microblading;
1.) If you are pregnant, as a precaution I will not perform the service as there is a risk of infection. Your body is working hard enough. You can wait darlin’.
2.) If you have extremely oily skin, the hair stroke eyebrow technique may not work very well for you. The constant production of oil will cause the hair strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look.. I would recommend finding a microblading artist that does powder brows.
3.) If you have little to no existing hair or coarse hair, your tattoo will appear more 2-dimensional than those clients who have more hair, or naturally finer hair.
4.) If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment may fade sooner.
5.) If you are iron deficient or Anemic, your pigment may fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure.
6.) If you are currently going through chemotherapy, please wait at least 3 months post to get microblading done because like with any tattoo, there is a risk of infection.
